21ˢᵗ Century intruduced us to the world of technology and it started taking parts of daily life gradually. It changed our lives, our hobbies, created new workfields and improved the way we are teaching and we are taught.
Old ways of teaching started to break and the teachers unbreakable authority transformed into a partner like role with it. Invention of internet made reaching information easier than ever. Today digital libraries and digital classrooms are a thing thanks to it. In my opinion, this compact, easy to use digital interface is the reason todays students are much more creative and productive and I think this is why being self-taught is becoming regular day by day
This corrolates to my subject, which is language teaching, as form of transformation. Supporting the information with excersices, visuals and audial materials are essential. Todays standarts allow us to provide our students much more than before. Instead of filling boring blanks, solving a crossword puzzle or communicating with the teacher and class and people they already know, now students can play videogames designed specificly for them, watch videos to comprehend better, find and fix their mistakes online, hear voice records of the target language or even get in contact internationally with people native to that language.
Every opinion has its opposers but I think tech integration is for the better of everybody and it will emerge itself more and grow together with education and become an inseperable part of it.
